Falcon scholars honored
The Falcon community recognized nearly 400 scholars during the annual University Honors Convocation on Thursday, April 9. Honors Convocation is an annual celebration where the University publicly recognizes and commends students for their distinguished academic achievements. The Honors Convocation is among the most important ceremonies of the University’s academic year.
The guest speaker for this year’s convocation was alumnus Xavier Donaldson, Esq. Throughout his speech, Atty. Donaldson emphasized that the St. Aug in him gave him the ability to be great and the ability to distinguish himself.
A graduate of the Class of 1990, Donaldson graduated from the University with honors (magna cum laude). Xavier R. Donaldson is a senior trial counsel and founding partner of Donaldson & Chilliest, LLP, with offices in New York City and a former Assistant District Attorney in Bronx County.
Falcons were honored for being Presidential and Honors scholars, making the Provost’s List and Dean’s list during spring 2013 and/or fall 2013. Scholars were also recognized for being inducted into various honor societies such as Alpha Kappa Mu, Alpha Sigma Lambda and Sigma Tau Delta to name a few. Also, ninety-nine scholar-athletes were recognized for earning a 3.0 cumulative grade point average and higher. There were also special award presentations that were made to seniors who had earned the highest grade point average in their School.
