The Freshman Writing Initiative hosted the Art of Words on August 21. The event showcased spoken word artists Moses West, Swayze Jones and Kelly Rae Williams in the Prezell R. Robinson Library. They shared their experiences as artists and performers and talked about the value of an education. Each artist also shared some of their original work with students and discussed how writing was an important part of their lives. Students were able to ask questions and gain valuable insight into the creative process.
