The Saint Augustine’s University foursome of Daniel Jamieson (Jr./Windsor, CT), Omar Johnson (Jr./St. Ann, Jamaica), Khari Herbert (So./Coral Springs, FL) and Immanuel Hutchinson (Jr./San Jacinto, CA) ran the world’s fastest time this year to win the men’s 1600 meter sprint medley in the Raleigh Relays at Paul Derr Track on Friday, March 27.

The Falcons’ quartet crossed the finish line first in a time of 3:19.79 to beat Loyola (III.), which placed second in 3:23.54.The sprint medley team bettered this year’s previous world top time of 3:24.09 set by Mississippi State, according to trackandfieldnews.com.

The blistering time set by the sprint medley team highlighted a terrific performance by the Falcons on a rainy day. Alex Louden (Sr./Zebulon, NC) captured the men’s college division high jump with a height of 6 feet, 9 inches, and Moussa Dembele (Sr./Dakar, Senegal) qualified for men’s 110 meter hurdles finals with a top preliminary time of 14.23 seconds.

Shakinah Brooks (So./Raleigh, NC) placed second in the women’s long jump Invitational with a leap of 19 feet, 3¼ inches. Jamieson ran the second-fastest qualifying time of 10.6 seconds to reach the men’s 100 meter finals, and Ornella Livingston (Jr./Christiana, Jamaica) ran the fifth-best preliminary time of 12.13 seconds to qualify for the women’s 100 meter finals.

Amenze Uhunmwangho (Fr./New Jersey) was 10th in the women’s college division long jump with a leap of 17 feet, 7 inches. Burkheart Ellis Jr. (Jr./Raleigh, NC) placed 15th in the men’s 400 meter dash in 48.64 seconds, and Samantha Woodburn (Jr./St. Catherine, Jamaica) finished 18th in the women’s 400 meter dash in 57.28 seconds.

On Saturday, March 28, Tia-Adana Belle (So./St. George, Barbados) placed first in the women’s 400 meter hurdles in 59.11 seconds, which is the fastest in the nation among Division II hurdlers. She was the only hurdler to finish under one minute in the event.

The Falcons’ 4×200 relay foursome of Ellis, Jr., Jamieson, Kevaughn Hewitt (Sr./Miramar, FL) and Johnson won the men’s 4×200 meter relay in 1:25.60.
