Seven is a charm for the track & field team
Saint Augustine’s University prepared for the upcoming CIAA Indoor Track & Field Championships by winning seven events at the ETSU Buccaneer Invitational at the ETSU/MSHA Athletic Center, which concluded on Saturday, February 7, 2015.
Each winner from Saint Augustine’s University provisionally qualified for the NCAA Division II Indoor Championships at the ETSU meet. Brooks also qualified automatically for the NCAA Division II Championships, which will be held in March 2015.
The Falcons and Lady Falcons will defend their conference crowns at the CIAA Indoor Championships on Sunday, February 15 and Monday, February 16. The meet will be held at the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, N.C., with events beginning at 9 a.m. each day.
The Falcons are the 17-time defending CIAA men’s champions in addition to being the two-time defending NCAA Division II men’s champions. The Lady Falcons are the two-time defending CIAA women’s champions, and have won 17 of the last 18 league titles. The Falcons and Lady Falcons have combined to win 35 NCAA Division II national indoor and outdoor crowns combined under legendary Head Coach George Williams.
