12 All-Americans at NCAA D-II Indoor Track and Field Championships
Saint Augustine’s University produced 12 All-Americans at the NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field Championships at the Robert W. Plaster Center on March 12.
Seven Lady Falcons earned All-America honors on the women’s squad, which finished sixth with 29 points in the team standings. Five Falcons claimed All-America recognition on the men’s team, which placed ninth with 22 points in the team standings. Student-athletes competing in the championship meet earned All-America status by finishing in the top eight places in their respective events.
Among the women, Ornella Livingston (Jr./St. Ann, Jamaica) finished second in the 60-meter finals and fourth in the 200-meter finals to lead the Lady Falcons. She also was a member, along with Mylene Cannon (Jr./Dallas, TX), Ade Hunter (So./Philadelphia, PA) and Tia-Adana Belle (Jr./St. George, Barbados), of the 4×400-meter relay squad which finished fifth in the event.
Shamia Lassiter (Sr./Chesapeake, VA) was sixth in the 60-meter hurdles finals. On Friday, March 11, Shakinah Brooks (Jr./Raleigh, NC) and Amenze Uhunmwangho (Sr./Ebo, Nigeria) placed fourth and fifth, respectively, in the long jump.
Among the men, Kendall Kee (Sr./Shelby, NC) placed third in the 60-meter finals and Burkheart Ellis, Jr. (Sr./Raleigh, NC) finished fourth in the 200-meter finals. Jumonne Exeter (So./St. Vincent) was fifth in the triple jump.
Daniel Jamieson (Sr./Windsor, CT) finished fifth in the 200-meter finals and eighth in the 60-meter finals. Shaquille Dill (Fr./Pembroke, Bermuda) was eighth in the 400-meter finals and eighth in the 800-meter finals.
